For narrow and deep trenches, with a width starting from 800 millimetres, the ERKAT | ERKATOR is an effective, low vibration and accurate cutting machine.
The excavation of soft to middle hard rock with uniaxial compressive strengths from 15 to 80 MPa, where drilling and blasting is not possible,
is an additional application where the Erkator provides a low vibration, efficient and accurate profiling solution.

Erkat introduces its first model in the
EK range, the
EK 800.
This cutter has been designed for use on excavators from 25 to 45 tons and performs best in rock with a maximum uniaxial compressive strength less than 80 MPa.
It can also work perfectly well under water.
With an Erkator, your trench does not have to be wider than necessary.
This saves unnecessary expense for transportation and reduces the cost of back-fill material.
The cut rock is reduced in size to a fine grained material that is ideal for use as back-fill.
A continuous cutting chain, driven from the cutter drums, breaks rock between the cutter drums,
which saves the movements necessary with standard drum cutters that result in the trench being larger than the drum cutter width.
The
ERKAT | ERKATOR is easy on your excavator since the excavator slew movements are no longer required; operating an excavator with the Erkator is similar to using a bucket.
